He who spends must also take in again. Once a man rides past an inn who had a handsome potbelly, so much so that it hung down almost over the saddle on both sides. The innkeeper stood up on the relay and called after him: “Neighbor, why did you tie the Transverse sack in front of you on the horse and not behind?” The rider called back: “So that I have it under my eyes. Because there are rascals at the back.”

The innkeeper said nothing.
