27. The Parable of the lost little Sheep.
The Son of Man came
to save that which was lost. ‘What do you think,’ he said, ’if any man
had a hundred sheep and one of them went astray, does he not leave the
ninety-nine on the mountains, go and seek the one that is lost, and if
he happens to find it, truly, I tell you, he rejoices over it more than
over the ninety-nine that have not gone astray? So also it is not the
will of your Father in heaven that any of these little ones should be
lost. There is joy in heaven over one sinner who improves on earth.’
